Mark items sold out and update prices from the app

Mark an item sold out or available, and change its price, straight from your phone.

Published June 2, 2026

When the kitchen runs out of something mid-service, you don't want to be reaching for a laptop. The MenuDock mobile app lets you mark an item sold out, bring it back, or change its price from your phone. The change is live on your storefront within moments.

This is the same product data the web admin uses, so anything you change here shows up there too.

Open the product list

  1. Open the Settings tab from the bottom navigation.
  2. Tap Product Status. The screen that opens is titled Product List.
  3. Use the search box at the top to find an item by name or category. The list covers all your products.

The Product List screen in the mobile app: a search box at the top and product cards below, each showing the item name and price with an Update Price button and a sold-out toggle.

Mark an item sold out or available

Each product card has a button that flips its stock status:

  1. Find the item in the list.
  2. Tap Mark sold out (or Mark available if it's already off).
  3. Confirm when the app asks Are you sure?

A sold-out item still shows on your storefront menu so customers can see it's something you do, but they can't add it to the basket. Bring it back the same way once you've restocked. For what each stock state means on the storefront, see Stock status.

Update a price

  1. Tap Update Price on the item's card.
  2. Type the new price in the dialog. Enter it in your store's currency, for example 8.50.
  3. Tap OK.

The new price applies to that product right away. If you enter something that isn't a valid number, the app tells you and nothing changes.

When to change this

  • Mark a dish sold out the moment the kitchen tells you it's gone, rather than waiting for an order to come in for it.
  • Bring items back at the start of the next service so the menu is whole again.
  • Use a quick price change for a one-off, like a daily special. For lasting menu work (descriptions, photos, allergens, variants), the web admin gives you the full set of fields.

A note on POS-linked items: if a product was synced in from a till system, its price and name are owned by that system and may be overwritten on the next sync. Changing them in the app might not stick. See Products synced from a POS.
