Reset your password

Reset or change the password you use to sign in to the admin panel.

Published June 2, 2026

There are two ways to change the password on your operator account. If you're locked out and can't sign in, use the email reset link. If you're already signed in and just want a fresh password, change it from your profile. This article covers both.

Your password is the same for the admin panel and the mobile app, so changing it once updates both.

If you're locked out: reset by email

  1. Go to the admin sign-in page at /admin/login.
  2. Next to the Password field, click Forgot password?.
  3. Enter the email address on your account and complete the "I'm human" check, then press Send reset link.
  4. You'll see a confirmation that, if an account exists for that email, reset instructions are on the way. Check your inbox.

The admin "Reset your password" form: an email field and a "Send reset link" button, with a "Back to sign in" link below.

We word the confirmation carefully on purpose. It doesn't confirm whether an account exists for that email, which stops anyone fishing for valid addresses. So if nothing arrives, double-check you typed the right email.

  1. Open the email and click the reset link. It takes you to a Reset your password page that shows which account you're resetting.
  2. Enter a new password (at least 8 characters), confirm it, and press Reset password and continue.
  3. You're sent back to the sign-in page. Sign in with your new password.

The reset link is single-use and expires after a while. If it's stopped working, just request a fresh one from Forgot password? again.

If you're signed in: change it from your profile

  1. Open your profile from the avatar in the top-right of the admin panel, or go to /admin/profile.
  2. Scroll to the Change password section.
  3. Type a new password and confirm it. It needs to be at least 8 characters, and the two boxes have to match.
  4. Press Update password.

You stay signed in after the change. The new password applies the next time you sign in, on the admin panel and the mobile app alike.

Choosing a good password

  • At least 8 characters is the minimum MenuDock enforces, but longer is stronger.
  • Don't reuse the password from another site, especially your email.
  • A short phrase with a number or two is easier to remember than a jumble and just as safe.

A note on team logins

Each person on your team has their own login and their own password. Resetting yours doesn't affect anyone else's, and you can't reset a colleague's password for them. If someone on the team is locked out, they request their own reset from Forgot password?. To add or remove team members, see Add a team member.
