You can ask us to delete your MenuDock account and the personal data tied to it at any time. This article explains how to make that request, what gets removed, and what we have to keep. It also covers the difference between closing your own login and closing the whole restaurant workspace, because those aren't the same thing.
If your goal is to stop being billed but keep your data, you probably want to cancel your subscription rather than delete your account. See the section near the end before you do anything final.
How to request deletion
MenuDock doesn't have a self-service "delete my account" button in the admin panel. Deletion is handled by request so we can verify it's really you and explain what happens to any business records.
To request it:
- Email support@menudock.co.uk from the email address registered to your MenuDock account.
- Use the subject line Account Deletion Request.
- In the message, include the email on your account, the name of your restaurant or workspace, and a clear confirmation that you want your account and personal data deleted.
We verify the request, confirm by email, and complete the deletion within 30 days. The full policy is on the public Account Deletion page, which also covers the mobile apps.

Your login versus the whole workspace
This is the part worth getting right.
- Deleting your own account removes you as a person: your profile, your name and email, your password, any linked Google or Apple identity, your sessions and your device push tokens. If you're one of several team members, the restaurant carries on without you.
- Deleting the whole workspace removes the restaurant's own data, including its products, orders and customers. That data belongs to the tenant, not to any one team member, so it isn't removed when an individual leaves. Only the account owner can request workspace deletion.
Say so clearly in your email if you want the entire restaurant closed down, not just your personal login. Otherwise we treat it as deleting your individual account.
What we have to keep
We can't delete everything, even on request. For UK accounting and tax law we retain order and transaction records for at least six years, even after an account is closed. Security and debugging logs may keep references that are anonymised rather than erased. None of that is used to keep your account active; it's record-keeping we're legally required to do.
Closing your account as an alternative to deletion
If you're stepping away from online ordering but might come back, deletion is the wrong tool, because it's permanent and you'd start from scratch later. Two softer options:
- Pause billing by cancelling your subscription. Your store stops taking orders at the end of the paid period and you're no longer charged, but your menu, settings and history stay put. See Change or cancel your plan.
- Come back later by reactivating. If you've already cancelled and want to pick up where you left off, you can restart without rebuilding anything. See Reactivate your subscription.
Delete the account only when you're sure you won't need any of it again.
