A common question when you start taking orders is what MenuDock takes from each sale and when you get paid. This article answers both.
MenuDock takes no commission on orders
MenuDock does not take a cut of your order takings. There is no per-order platform fee added on top of what your customer pays. You pay for MenuDock through your plan subscription, and that is separate from the money your customers spend on food.
What you pay MenuDock is your monthly plan, plus any extra-location charge on Business if you run more than the included branches. None of that is taken out of individual orders. For the plan side of billing, see Change your plan.
Your provider's own fees still apply
Whichever payment provider you connect charges its own processing fees on each transaction, in the same way it would for any business using it. Those fees are between you and Stripe, Square or PayPal, and they are set in your provider account, not in MenuDock. MenuDock does not add to them or share in them. Check your provider's pricing for the exact rate, and watch their dashboard for the fee taken on each payment.
How payouts work
Payouts are handled entirely by your payment provider, not by MenuDock. When a customer pays for an order, the money goes to your connected provider account and the provider pays it out to you on its own schedule:
- Stripe pays out to the bank account you set up during onboarding, on Stripe's payout schedule.
- Square settles into your Square balance and pays out on Square's schedule.
- PayPal pays into your PayPal account.
Because the money never passes through MenuDock, the timing, the payout schedule and the bank details all live with your provider. To change when or where you get paid, or to chase a payout that hasn't arrived, use your provider's dashboard.
Where to see what you've taken
For your own view of sales inside MenuDock, the analytics section shows order totals and refunds over time. That is a reporting view of what was ordered; it is not the same as your provider's payout statement, which is the authority on money that's actually landed in your account. Reporting is available on Pro and Business. See Sales analysis.

Need a hand?
If a payout hasn't arrived, the first place to look is your provider's dashboard, since that's where payouts are scheduled and any holds are flagged. If your provider says a payout has been sent but you still can't see it, email support@menudock.co.uk with your store name and we'll help you trace it.
