A tour of the admin panel

A quick orientation to the admin panel: the left menu, the top bar, the dashboard, and who sees what.

Published June 2, 2026

The admin panel is where you run everything except live order handling: your menu, settings, payments, customers and reports. Here's a quick orientation so you know where things live before you start clicking around.

The MenuDock admin dashboard: the left navigation menu, the top bar with location switcher and storefront link, and the daily summary showing revenue, order counts and today's orders.

The left menu

The navigation down the left is your main map. A few items expand into sub-sections when you click them.

Menu item What's in it
Dashboard Today's revenue, order counts and a list of the day's orders
Orders Every order, with detail and status
Analytics Reports: sales, orders, products, customers, kitchen and CSV export
Catalog Your menu: products, categories and modifier groups
Customers People who've ordered from you and their history
Discounts Discount codes and their rules
Sliders Promotional banners on your storefront homepage
Integrations Payment providers (Stripe, Square, PayPal) and POS connections
Locations Your branches (and their per-branch settings)
Team Staff accounts and their roles
Subscription Your plan, invoices and billing
Settings Business details, notifications, appearance, opening hours, ordering, checkout, printers, domain and content pages

What you actually see depends on your plan and your role. POS connections and extra locations are Business features, for example, so they won't do much on Starter.

The top bar

Along the top:

  • Location switcher: on multi-location accounts, choose a branch or "All locations" to scope what you're looking at.
  • Language: the admin panel's own language, separate from your storefront language.
  • View storefront: opens your live storefront in a new tab, handy for checking a change.
  • Your profile: your name and email, with a link to update your password.

The dashboard

The dashboard is the landing page. At a glance it shows today's revenue, how many orders have come in, how many are still pending, and how many are in the kitchen, followed by the day's orders. It's a summary, not the place you work orders from minute to minute. That happens on the MenuDock mobile app.

Roles and who sees what

There are four roles. Owners, managers and viewers sign in here on the web; viewers can look but not change much. Kitchen and floor staff don't use the web panel at all. They use the MenuDock mobile app to watch live orders and update statuses. Roles explained breaks down exactly what each one can do.

Web vs the mobile app

Think of it as two surfaces for one restaurant. The web admin panel is for setting things up and looking back at how you're doing. The mobile app is for the live shift: new orders arrive in real time, with a sound alert, and staff move them through to ready and delivered.
