The Business plan includes three locations. If you run more than three active branches, each extra one adds to your monthly bill. This article explains how the allowance works, what an extra branch costs, and what happens to branches over the limit if you ever move down a plan.
What's included
| Plan | Locations included |
|---|---|
| Starter | 1 |
| Pro | 1 |
| Business | 3 |
Only the Business plan supports more than one location at all. Starter and Pro are single-location, and the location tools stay hidden on them.
On Business, your first three active locations are covered by the plan price. Branch four onwards is where extra charges start.
What an extra location costs
Each active location beyond the included three is £30 per month. So four active branches add £30 a month, five add £60, and so on. The charge is based on active locations, not how many you've created. A branch you've deactivated doesn't count towards the total, so if you take a branch offline you drop back below the line.
How the charge is added
The Locations page shows where you stand. A banner above the list tells you how many locations you're using against the three included, the £30 per extra rate, and how many extra you're currently over by.
The extra-location charge rides on your existing Business subscription rather than coming as a separate bill. It's added as a line on that subscription, with the quantity set to the number of extra active locations, and prorated when the count changes mid-cycle. In plain terms: if you activate a fourth branch part-way through the month, you pay for the part of the month it was active, not a full month.
A note on timing: the £30 rate and the included counts above are confirmed in the product. The exact moment the charge appears on your invoice (immediately on activating a branch, or at your next billing date) depends on your subscription's billing setup, so if you need to know precisely when an extra branch hits your bill, email support and we'll confirm against your account.
What happens if you downgrade
If you move from Business down to Pro or Starter, those plans only allow one location. MenuDock doesn't delete your other branches. Locations beyond the new plan's limit are deactivated, and all their data (menu overrides, hours, past orders) is kept. The branches stop taking orders, but nothing is thrown away. Move back up to Business and you can reactivate them.
Because a downgrade changes which branches are live, read What happens when you change plan before you confirm one, especially if more than one branch is currently trading.
