If you run more than one branch from the same brand, MenuDock can hold each one as its own location under a single account. One storefront, one menu to manage, but separate addresses, opening hours, payment setup and per-branch menu tweaks where you need them. This article explains what multiple locations gives you, who it's for, and how customers end up at the right branch.
Multiple locations is a Business plan feature. On Starter and Pro your account has exactly one location and the location tools stay hidden, because there's nothing to switch between. If you're on Business, you'll find everything under Operations → Locations in the admin sidebar (or go straight to /admin/locations).
Who it's for
This is for brands with more than one site trading under the same name: a café that's opened a second unit across town, or a pizzeria running three or four branches. Each branch takes its own orders, but you manage them all from one login.
If you only have one site, you don't need any of this. A single location runs perfectly well on Starter or Pro, and the menu and settings just apply to that one place.
What each location keeps of its own
A location is more than an address. Each one holds its own:
- Address and postcode, shown on the storefront and receipts for that branch.
- Phone and contact email, so customer enquiries reach the right site.
- Opening hours, set per branch under Settings → Opening Hours with the location switcher pointed at the branch you're editing.
- Payment setup. Each branch connects its own Stripe or Square account, so payouts land where they should.
- Temporary closure. You can close one branch for the night without touching the others.
- Menu price, availability and stock per product, through location overrides.
Per-product differences between branches are handled on a product's Location overrides tab, not here. The shared menu stays the source of truth, and you only override what actually differs. See Location overrides for that.
What stays shared across the brand
Your business name, currency and storefront language belong to the whole account, not to a single branch. The menu structure (your categories and products) is shared too, with overrides layered on top for the branches that need them. That way you build the menu once and adjust per branch only where it matters.
How customers pick a location
Customers reach a specific branch through its own address on your storefront. Each location has a slug (for example camden or northern-quarter), and that slug routes customers to the right branch's menu, hours and checkout. When you add a branch you choose its slug, and you can hand out or link to that branch's URL directly.
Only active locations take orders. A branch you've deactivated, or one closed temporarily, won't accept new orders, which keeps customers from ordering somewhere that can't fulfil.

Need a hand?
Can't see the Locations page on a Business account? Only owners reach it, so check you're signed in as the account owner rather than a manager or staff member. If it's still missing, email support@menudock.co.uk with your store name.
