Apple Pay and Google Pay

Turn on Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout (Pro plan and above).

Published June 2, 2026

Apple Pay and Google Pay let customers pay with the wallet on their phone, with no card number to type. In MenuDock these are not a separate provider you connect. They ride on top of your card provider, and they are available on the Pro and Business plans.

How wallets are enabled

There is no on/off switch to flip. When your plan includes digital wallets and your storefront meets the requirements, MenuDock turns them on for you. Two things have to be true:

  1. Your plan covers them. Wallets are part of Pro and Business. On Starter they are not offered, and the wallet status card shows an upgrade note instead.
  2. Your storefront domain is registered with your card provider. Apple Pay in particular needs the domain serving your checkout to be verified with your provider. MenuDock handles this registration for you against your storefront domain.

Because wallets register against your domain, the controls live on the custom domain page rather than the Integrations page. Custom domains are a Pro and Business feature too, which fits with wallets being available on the same plans.

Where to check the status

Open Settings → Domain. Below the domain setup you'll find an Apple Pay & Google Pay card listing the registration status for your storefront domain.

The Apple Pay and Google Pay card on the Domain settings page, showing a table of domains with a provider column and a status badge for each.

Each row shows a domain, the provider it is registered with, and a status:

  • Active — the wallet is registered and working on that domain.
  • Pending — registration is in progress. Press Refresh to re-check.
  • Failed — registration didn't complete. There's a Retry button and a short note on what to fix.
  • Removed — registration was withdrawn, for example after a downgrade.

If a row shows Failed, the usual causes are that your storefront isn't yet live over HTTPS, or your provider account doesn't have Apple Pay enabled. Sort those out, then press Retry.

On the Starter plan

If you're on Starter, the wallet card shows an upgrade note rather than a status table, with a link to change your plan. Card payments still work on Starter; it's the wallet buttons that are reserved for Pro and Business. See Plan comparison for what each plan includes.

A note on PayPal

PayPal does not provide Apple Pay or Google Pay through MenuDock. Wallets come from your card provider (Stripe or Square), so you need one of those connected for the wallet buttons to appear.

Need a hand?

If a wallet stays at Failed after you've confirmed your storefront is live over HTTPS and your provider has Apple Pay enabled, press Retry once more, then email support@menudock.co.uk with your store name and the domain shown in the row.
