Product analytics: best sellers by revenue and quantity, popular modifiers, and slow movers worth a look.

Published June 2, 2026

The Products page shows which menu items are pulling their weight: top sellers by revenue and quantity, which modifier options customers add most, and which active items are barely selling. Use it to prune your menu and to see where the money on the menu actually comes from.

Analytics is open to owners and managers only.

Open the Products page

  1. In the admin sidebar, open Analytics.
  2. Select Products.

The date range picker and Compare toggle apply here, and multi-branch tenants can scope to one branch or All locations.

Products analytics page with three KPI cards (Items sold, Unique products sold, Slow movers), the sortable Top products table, the Slow movers list and the Popular modifiers table.

The KPI cards

Card What it counts
Items sold Total quantity of all items sold in the range (cancelled orders excluded).
Unique products sold How many distinct products sold at least one unit.
Slow movers Active menu items that sold fewer than 5 units in the last 30 days.

Top products

The Top products table lists items by revenue, with quantity, revenue, average price, the number of orders that included the item, and that item's cancellation rate. You can sort by any column, so it doubles as a "what sells the most units" view as well as a "what earns the most" one.

Revenue here is the value of the item lines themselves (price times quantity, including any modifier adjustments captured at the time of order), not the whole order total.

Slow movers

Slow movers are active products that sold fewer than 5 units in the last 30 days. This list is deliberately fixed to a rolling 30-day window and does not follow the page's date range, because the point is to catch dead menu items based on recent trade. An item showing 0 hasn't sold a single unit in that window and is flagged in red.

Slow movers are a good prompt to retire an item, re-photograph it, or feature it in a home page slider to give it a push.

Popular modifiers

The Popular modifiers table counts how often each modifier option was added across all orders in the range, most popular first, grouped by the modifier group it belongs to. It tells you which add-ons and choices customers actually pick, which is useful when you're pricing options or deciding what to make a default. For how modifiers are set up, see Modifier groups.

Export to CSV

Download CSV exports the product performance table for the current range (product, quantity, revenue, average price, orders, cancellation rate). The CSV does not include the modifier breakdown. CSV export is a Pro and Business feature; on Starter the button is disabled. See Reports and CSV export.

When to change this

There's nothing to set on this page. If a product you'd expect to see is missing from the top table, check it actually sold in the selected range, since the table only lists items with sales.

Need a hand?

If a product shows revenue but the average price looks off, remember the average is revenue divided by quantity across the whole range, so a mix of variants or modifier prices will pull it around. Email support@menudock.co.uk with your store name if a figure still looks wrong.
