Quick answers to the questions restaurant operators ask most when they're sizing up MenuDock. Each one links to the fuller article if you want the detail.
Getting started
What is MenuDock?
MenuDock turns your menu into a branded online ordering site. Customers order from your own storefront, pay by card, and the order lands in front of your staff in real time on the MenuDock mobile app.
Who is it for?
UK restaurants, cafés and takeaways that want to take orders online under their own brand rather than a marketplace. It suits a single café as well as a small group running several branches.
How do I get started?
Sign up, choose a plan, add your menu, connect a payment provider, and your store takes orders. The two required steps are connecting payments and adding at least one product. See the 10-minute checklist.
Pricing and plans
How much does it cost?
There are three plans, billed monthly per store: Starter at £25, Pro at £49, and Business at £99. Pick the one that fits today and change it whenever you like. See compare the plans.
Do you take a commission on orders?
No. MenuDock takes no cut of your order takings and adds no per-order fee. You pay your monthly plan and that's it. See how payouts work.
Payments and payouts
How do customers pay?
By card through your own Stripe or Square account, or with PayPal if you connect it. You connect a provider you control, not a MenuDock account. See payment providers.
When do I get the money?
Your payment provider pays you, not MenuDock. The money goes straight to your connected Stripe, Square or PayPal account and pays out on that provider's schedule, since it never passes through MenuDock. See how payouts work.
Can I take Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Yes, on the Pro and Business plans. Wallets ride on top of your card provider and MenuDock registers them against your storefront domain for you. See Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Your storefront and domain
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on Pro and Business. You point a domain like order.yourrestaurant.com at your storefront, and MenuDock handles the SSL certificate. Every store gets a free .menudock.co.uk address otherwise. See connect a custom domain.
Your customers
Do customers need an account to order?
No. Customers can check out as a guest with no account, which keeps that first order quick. They can also register to save their details and reorder faster. See guest checkout.
Multiple locations
Can I run more than one location?
Yes, on the Business plan. Three locations are included, and each active branch beyond that is £30 a month. Each branch keeps its own address, hours and payment setup under one login. See multiple locations and the extra-location cost.
Integrations
Do you integrate with my till or POS?
Square POS sync is a Business plan feature, and it's still rolling out. Depending on your account the Square POS card may show as "coming soon" for now. Card payments through Square are separate and available today. See Square POS.
Mobile app
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, a free restaurant app for iPhone, iPad and Android. It shows your live orders at the counter or in the kitchen and uses the same login as your web admin panel. See the mobile app.
Account
What country and currency does MenuDock use?
MenuDock is built for the UK, and stores trade in GBP by default. Your store's configured currency drives every price and payment.
How do I close my account?
Email support@menudock.co.uk from your registered address to request deletion, and choose whether you're closing your own login or the whole workspace. If you only want to stop being billed, cancelling your subscription keeps your data in place. See close your account.
